Shani Ladani

Aug 1, 2002 | 23rd of Av, 5762 | כ״ג באב תשס״ב

Aug 1, 2002 – Shani Ladani, 27 of Moshav Olash was found shot and bound morning west of Tulkarem, near the Green Line.

Shani Ladani was employed at one of the factories located in the industrial zone and was found by his employer who went to search for him after Ladani didn’t answer calls on the radio. He was shot in the head at point-blank range and bound. His body was found. Most of the workers employed at the factory, (which is located on the Israeli side of the Green Line) are Palestinians from Tulkarem and surrounding villages.

Shani was born and raised on Olash and attended high school at the Ruppin regional school. He served in the army as a driver and after his service traveled abroad.

He had recently completed his matriculation exams and only began working at the factory near Tulkarem a few months ago after a lengthy period during which he was unemployed. The factory manager who also lives in Olash, took him on as a driver. Shani had recently written a book and hoped to have it published.

Shani Ladani was buried in Olash. He is survived by his parents and two brothers.
