Sari Goldstein

Aug 4, 2002 | 26th of Av, 5762 | כ״ו באב תשס״ב

Aug 4, 2002 – Sari Goldstein 21, of Karmiel was one of 9 people killed in the suicide bombing of Egged bus No. 361 traveling from Haifa to Safed at the Meron junction in northern Israel.

Egged bus No. 361 left Haifa for Safed at 7:15 Sunday morning. The terrorist who had boarded the bus, exploded the bomb at the Meron junction near Safed just before 9:00. The blast blew off the roof of the bus which then burst into flames, killing or wounding nearly everyone inside.

Sari Goldstein had recently completed her military service and was on her way to enroll in a training course at Safed Regional College when bus No. 361 was blown up.

Originally from Bat Yam, the Goldstein family had moved to Karmiel three years ago after living on a kibbutz in the Golan Heights. Family members told how Sari had spent most of her army service in the territories and was a fearless bus passenger.

“Sari was a marvelous girl and full of the joy of life, who was building her future,” said a relative.

Sari Goldstein was buried in Karmiel. She left behind her parents Moshe and Yosefa, a sister Chen, and a brother Ariel.

Israel's Voice commitment to memorialize each victim of terror doesn't end here. We are currently reaching out to those who have been victimized and to every family who's lost loved one(s) due to terror. Your story must be told and we intend to create a documentary for each individual. Silence is no longer an option. Contact us today to set up an appointment. info@israelvoice.org Our preference is to make your story heard in English, but Hebrew is also fine. Videos will be subtitled for the world to understand.
